My Mac just got a little bit friendlier, thanks (again) to Alcor at Blacktree. Quicksilver, an indispensable 'graphical command line' utility for OSX, now has a plugin that allows you to bind arbitrary actions to mouse gestures - kids, that includes invoking from anywhere an app-specific command with a flick of the mouse. I'm a keyboard kid myself, but this is nice, nice, nice.
So you understand: this means invoking with a single mouse click, from anywhere on your system, a command like 'Email the contents of this dynamic folder to Malcolm' or 'Commit blah-blah-blah to SVN' or 'Append the name of the selected file to that list I'm building'. And so forth.
