Inspired by a recent binge on the Grateful Dead (thanks to GoDaddy and the Shark for listening suggestions - shit, are they separate people? I don't even know) I really wanted to sing 'We Bid You Goodnight'. And there it is! [mp3] Not great, I readily admit, but it's a pretty song, and I got into it a little bit, so that's nice.
And then our little WaxBanksTraxhome studio received an unexpected visit from Rap Master A2thaG.I. dropping some street knowledge on the captain creeps in their bourgemobiles. The result? Perfection. [mp3]
Her comment on the performance? 'I don't know if I can deal with this kind of notoriety.'
Actually now that I think about it it's not so much a straight rap performance as a kind of multimodal, multimedia, cross-disciplinary, intergalactic spoken/sung/barked combination platter. I don't want you to feel misled.
