Shazam! Always nice to see (evidently) intelligent people savaging the current administration in learned ways. This is DeLong responding to Jacob Levy of the Volokh Conspiracy, the latter a collective of conservative/libertarian pundits of the legalistic variety. The former an economist, his blog a treasure trove.
It turns out there is an American intellectual class, and they're actively talking to one another (at least to some degree), and they're doing this - if you can fucking believe it - in something called, I kid you not, 'the blogosphere'. Only in America could we have a name so stupid for a discursive community so semiserious.
Hey, then again, in America we're capable of taking seriously titles like this one, so I shouldn't be that surprised...
(And yes, I have that book on my bookshelf. Oh the mixed feelings.)
